Lourdes in 1 day

Walk towards the Grotto of the Apparitions and enter beneath the rock: you will see the spring and the famous statue of Our Lady of Lourdes: an unforgettable experience.

The slender, white Basilica of the Immaculate Conception is perched above the rocks of the grotto. Below it is the Basilica of the Rosary, which is decorated with superb Venetian mosaics by G.D. Facchina who also decorated the Opéra Garnier in Paris. The Basilica of Pius X is a crypt constructed beneath the esplanade. It is thought to be one of the largest shrines in the world and has facilities for 20,000 pilgrims. Follow St. Bernadette’s footsteps and discover the important places in the life of Bernadette Soubirous: Bernadette’s birthplace (Boly Mill), the Cachot (the dungeon), the former presbytery, etc. Participate in the candlelight procession that takes place daily at 9 pm, from April to October.
