Sistine Chapel in Częstochowa

The immersive exhibition is a project of the Manuscriptum Emission House, which in this way promotes the Renaissance European heritage. Before Częstochowa, it was only shown in Warsaw and Krakow.

Thanks to the substantive support of Anatonio Paouluci - former director of the Vatican Museums - the Sistine Chapel can be shown outside the Vatican. For the first time in history, the Vatican Museums have agreed to such a wide use and presentation of photographic documentation of Michelangelo's frescoes.
The multimedia exhibition is based on the use of the most modern technologies. Thanks to them, for the first time you can see the details of the painting in such detail. This is not possible even in the Vatican!

The frescoes of the Sistine Chapel have been recreated on a 1:1 scale, allowing for a thorough exploration of the works of the outstanding Michelangelo and the 15th-century masters.

The exhibition is a place where the past meets the future, offering an unforgettable experience. It is here that, using the latest technology, history and art are presented in a way that is friendly to everyone, regardless of age.

During the tour of the exhibition, you will learn the fascinating history of the Sistine Chapel and its creators. You will discover interesting facts about the Vatican frescoes, you will see up close a replica of one of Michelangelo's most famous sculptures: the Vatican Pieta.

This is the only opportunity to see this iconic work so close and so clearly.

The tour begins with a presentation of a film about the creation of the Vatican paintings, then after moving to the educational room, you can read interesting facts and historical facts from the time of the creation of the paintings. Thanks to modern technologies, in the so-called Hall "immersive" you will immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Michelangelo's frescoes. This is a unique spectacle using images and sound.

The creation of the exhibition was possible thanks to the work of almost a hundred people, mainly photographers. They took 250 thousand high-resolution photos - some of them document literally several centimeters of fragments of the frescoes.

A few days ago in Częstochowa, wonderful news was announced!

A few years ago, the sketches of the "Last Judgement" were discovered when in 2020 a private Polish collector presented it for valuation. Research has confirmed the high probability of the work's authenticity, indicating that it may be an early draft of Michelangelo's famous fresco. The sketch was created on rare calf parchment, and its execution with iron-gall ink and anatomical precision indicate the hand of Michelangelo. On the occasion of the 550th anniversary of Michelangelo's birth, on March 6, 2025, the sketch was presented to the public in Częstochowa, and its copy - a facsimile - will be made available to experts around the world.
