What more could you want?
We invite you to get to know the attractions that this charming town offers in winter.
First of all, Einsiedeln offers excellent conditions for skiing and snowboarding. The proximity to larger ski resorts, such as Hoch-Ybrig, makes it an ideal place for winter trips. Here you will find trails of varying degrees of difficulty, for both beginners and advanced skiers. There are also specially prepared areas for snowboarders.
For fans of cross-country skiing, Einsiedeln offers cross-country trails that lead through picturesque areas. The most popular are the trail through the Sihlsee valley, which provides beautiful views of the frozen lake and the surrounding mountains, and the trail around the monastery with gentler paths, ideal for beginners.
For those who prefer less intense physical effort, we recommend Nordic walking or hiking in traditional snowshoes. Such a walk is a great way to get to know the winter landscape of Einsiedeln.
We invite skating enthusiasts to the year-round ice rink, where you can not only skate, but also play curling. This unique sport has its own club in Einsiedeln, which organizes various tournaments and events. Maybe you will come across one of them? In winter, ice rinks are also prepared in the surrounding ski resorts. However, it should be remembered that their operation depends on weather conditions and the season, so check their availability before planning your visit.
Einsiedeln also has a modern ski jumping hill complex, with its own ski lift and snow cannons. The highest of the hills is 117 m high (K105). The complex has been equipped with green summer plastic covers, which replace snow and allow skiers to train in the summer. Every year, Einsiedeln hosts the Ski Jumping World Cup, the Summer Grand Prix in Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined. A real treat for every fan of this spectacular discipline!
As you can see, Einsiedeln is a place that will satisfy every sports fan, offering a variety of outdoor activities in beautiful mountain surroundings. Whether you are an experienced skier or you are looking for peaceful walks, you will find something for yourself here.
