On May 27, the opening of the photography exhibition "Shrines of Europe - the path of culture and spirituality" took place.
It is a traveling exhibition, created by the joint effort of 7 member cities of Shrines of Europe, bringing together Marian pilgrimage centers: Częstochowa, Lourdes in France,
Altötting in Germany, Einsiedeln in Switzerland, Mariazell in Austria, Ourém-Fatima in Portugal and Loreto in Italy.
The exhibition will be presented in all cities of the Association. It was first seen in July 2022 in Altötting, then it was presented in Loreto, Italy, and in Lourdes, France.
Now the time has come to present the photos to the Częstochowa audience as well as to tourists and pilgrims visiting this city.
The authors of the photos are artists from the countries of the Association, often living in the photographed places, knowing them well and feeling their specific atmosphere.
The aim of the exhibition is to bring all cities of the network closer to a wider audience, as well as to show the beauty of cities and regions where the main centers of Marian worship in Europe are located.
For 25 years, the Association has been successfully initiating and implementing joint projects and undertakings. The exhibition shows that despite the distance on the map, many similarities can be found in these cities. All cities are places that host pilgrims and tourists from all over the world, giving space for prayer and concentration, while remaining attractive tourist destinations that offer an interesting tourist and cultural offer. It is this versatility that makes these places unique destinations on the map of Europe.
We invite you to see the exhibition in Częstochowa at the Częstochowa Museum on May 27 - August 27, 2023.
